Only a 5 minute walk to the start of the trek, the lodge is perfectly located and allows guests to enjoy a more leisurely start for chimp tracking.
Info
The newly refurbished Primate Lodge now consists of eight spacious luxury chalets tastefully decorated in traditional African style. Each chalet is light and airy with huge glass windows and sliding glass doors, offering 180 degree view of the surrounding forest without guests having to leave the comfort of their bed. The privately situated chalets feature a spacious veranda, comfortable twin beds and a lavish en-suite bathroom.
The existing, solid wall Forest Cottages are also being redesigned. Section cuts in walls are being made to create large windows, as well as new glass paneled doors, letting in light from the enchanting views of the rain forest. The main building comprising the reception, kitchen, restaurant, bar, office and lounge will also be refurbished with an enlarged kitchen, a new lounge, the bar expanded, new curio shop and a refurbished reception area. Plans are also being made for a new swimming pool as soon as the other refurbs are completed. These remaining projects are due to be finished by September 2015.
After waking up to the sounds of nature, follow the path to their spacious open restaurant where a delicious breakfast will be served. The restaurant provides local and international cuisine. Adjacent is a well-stocked bar and cozy lounge. In the evenings, guests can gather around the open fireplace and relive the highlights of their Uganda tour.
